Most workers can relate to that feeling of being overworked and overwhelmed. When work has its perks we are switched on and happy. When work is dragging along our bodies and minds get distracted. Mind wandering is totally normal. From increasing the amount of white and grey matter in the front brain and reducing our worry lines we are looking for quick fixes to relax. Yale university says meditation can heal us for most stress.
When you get busy and fatigue sets in you need a break for your productivity and creative mindset to shift. Not just to show up and pay attention but for sanity.
There is a big difference between showing up to do your work and feeling exhausted and not productive.
I hear it all the time; but, i’m too tired, i can’t, i’m too busy to relax.
Sometimes we have to make time as time is a gift.
We all need to Detach, Get Grounded, Pay Attention, and Become Present.
Being busy can mean different things to different people and its up to you how you speak about being busy but frankly i think busy is an excuse for saying ‘i am not good at using my time well’.
Busy sounds like this
I am just surviving and i can’t cope anymore.
Rather than not cope give up things that can make you feel better. Like your to-do list. Scrape it and focus on three things a day that you can cope with.
Relaxing sounds like this
I deserve to be happy and will spend time doing what i love. Writing, reading and eating my favourite snacks.
I am going to teach you how to relax relax in 30 minutes or less and enjoy without feeling guilty.
Meditation may be the new virtue of happiness.
