The Biggest Diet and Weight Loss Myths Debunked
Ready to quit diets for good? Women all over the world have been on the diet cycle and want to get off and change their relationship with their bodies as well as what they eat. For years I have seen women burn out, become depressed, cancel last minute because of the fear of not being good enough and they count the days when the next fad diet actually works.
At this point, I am telling you in all my years of health coaching and teaching health education in my personal experience its time to throw out the calorie counting journal, stop the visual photo memory for everything you eat and start to graduate to a new mindset. Women pretty much hate their bodies and starving our bodies is the biggest mistake women make as they worry so much about their weight and its not rocket science you just need some guidance.
Diet’s don’t work, but its time to start listening to your body and when you body need food you need to fuel it. Instead of beating up your body for not doing as its told to, start to befriend your body [bctt tweet=”Start to befriend your body #frenemy “]and start listening, I want to help you have a better relationship with your body and your eating. Sounds delightful sweet hey!

I’d be lying if I don’t share that I have had my troubles with my relationship with food. Now, I love food. Diets are too mentally tough for me. I have always had a positive mindset till motherhood changed that. For me I had to stop myself in my tracks as all I saw was excessive exercise to get your body back in shape and for me that was not an option and considering I was a PDHPE teacher for over a decade I do love fitness yet, my priorities have changed. But in those moments, I tried to remain positive. I don’t owe scales and am tempted to buy them but yet I haven’t yet. It’s how I deal with my body that was what I needed to put my attention on. I remind myself I had just had a baby or I have children and working on a lifestyle that fits and nourishing my body for what it truly needs.
Only time, told me I was not to give up on my body as it was my only body. I changed my cooking, recipes, my food shopping, and gradually my lifestyle changed and I changed. Yeah, sure my dress sizes, my bra sizes well just about everything changed and yep, stretchmarks too! In spite of post a tiger stripe body support for mums I am not the person who follows the norm. I never have. I celebrate my body by dancing around silly at home and teaching dance and movement meditation I must say yep, I love to get my groove on. Wiggle, jiggle and move that body. Turn up the tunes and here come the vibes- my mummy dance is about to break lose. Anyway at some point I came to terms with it.
I had a simple key after all that time I started loving my body. Not only did my body give me a blessing of children it gave me hope, love, peace, comfort to share and the real work is with your relationship with yourself your body and your food.
